Voltmeters and Ammeters - How to use them.
This is a guide primarily aimed at analogue panel meters, volts and amps. Typically these meters do not need an external source of power to enable the meter to function. These meters draw a tiny amount of power from the circuit they are in.
Digital multimeters operate in a similar way, but they are usually powered by an internal battery. When using a digital multimeter to measure voltage or current, always check the test leads are in the correct sockets on the meter before connecting them to the circuit. Connecting a meter configured in ammeter mode directly across a voltage source will cause a near short circuit, possibly causing damage and blowing a fuse in your meter.

Audio Upgrades for the Technics SL1200 and SL1210
In order to upgrade you will need to remove the original arm and fit a replacement armboard adapter onto which the new arm can be fitted, and the Origin Live DJ armboard enables
this, so you can use a Rega RB250, RB300, RB600
or any Origin live arm with your Technics SL1200 or SL1210
turntable.(It does not fit the Technics SL150 unless you are prepared to drill
the 4mm bolt holes yourself.)
The armboard is not only functional, but in itself is designed
to massively improve the performance of your arm over other types
or alternative boards. This is due to the extensive and renowned
design experience in energy transmission that Origin Live have applied
to the design - what seems a simple design has an almost infinite
number of variations in configuration and materials used - the importance
of the arm / turntable interface is critical - don't forget that
any excess resonance gets magnified over one million times into
the signal to your speakers. Eliminating excess resonance results
in a vastly improved clarity and purity in the music.Full fitting instructions are provided and you only need a normal
DIY ability to do the job yourself - no electrical skill whatsoever
is required. You can also order the threaded VTA adjuster as an optional extra
if you require easy and highly accurate VTA adjustment. However
our DJ arms come with two 1.5mm thick spacing washers that you can
use to set the height of the arm.
Once fitted, a Rega or Origin Live OL1 arm can then be fitted with the cartridge of your choice

What is wireless Bluetooth?
"Bluetooth" was named after a Viking who was a Danish King-Harald Blatand. Blatand was loosely translated into Bluetooth But what could an ancient king name got to do with the wireless transferring technology? They may not have connection between each other, but it comes from an interesting origin: Harald Blatand is reported to have united Demark and Norway, and hence so as the wireless technology uniting people.

Buying second hand Sinclair computers
The main thing to check whenever purchasing a second hand sinclair computer is whether it has been tested. If someone lists it and says that "it was working when put away years ago" you have to wonder why they have not bothered to test it before listing - is it because it doesn't work at all anymore, or maybe it is just the keyboard which no longer works.
If the keyboard no longer works, it is normally quite easy to replace a keyboard membrane on the Spectrum and Sinclair QL - replacement keyboard membranes for the ZX80 and ZX81 are nigh impossible to find, and even if you come across one, it is likely to be 20 years old.
Sinclair QL
Often, the seller will say "starts up to F1/F2 screen" - this is the boot screen. If they cannot get past this, you can bet your bottom dollar that it needs a new keyboard membrane (cost about 20 plus p

Watch Out for eBay Motor and Computer Scams
Watch Out for eBay Motor and Computer Scams.
There arent that many scammers on eBay but the ones there are tend to be greedy. This means that they will always try to pull their scams on high-value items like cars and computers, so that they can make a lot of money quickly. Since buyers generally buy these items very rarely, they may not know about the various scams out there.
Motor Scams.
With cars, you will generally find that scammers try to get you to send them money in advance, for whatever reason. For some reason, some people arent all that reluctant to pay 50% or 25% of the money before delivery using a relatively insecure payment method, especially on a car. They reason that the seller will obviously deliver it, as theyll want the other half of the money.
But there never was a car! Pictures of cars arent hard to find, and the experienced scammers will have a whole library of pictures of different cars. The seller just got your 5,000 for nothing, and you can leave them all the negative feedback you like. Theyll just go and open another eBay account and find their next sucker.
While its not an outright scam, what you might find is that the car does turn up, but simply doesnt live up to the description it has been oversold, in the tradition of used car dealers through the ages. If this happens to you then you should open an eBay dispute and say your item was not as described you might get a partial refund.
Computer Scams.
If you bid in a computer auction but dont win the item, the seller might email you to ask whether you would like to buy a computer the same as the one they just sold through their own website.
This is a bad idea! You have no guarantee that the item will ever arrive, and you havent just given them your money youve given them your credit card details too.
There are sellers with nothing but positive feedback who use this scam often and since you wont be able to leave them any feedback on the transaction, their reputation will stay that way. If you complain to eBay that you bought an item outside the site and got scammed, they will tell you to get lost and not do it again.
How to Beat the Scams.
There are lots of ways to beat the scams. First, whenever you buy anything expensive, be sure to check your sellers reputation thoroughly. Make sure they have sold items of a similar high value before, and havent just sold a string of 10 items to get their feedback rating artificially high. If you want to be even more cautious, insist that the money is placed in an escrow service (eBay recommend escrow.com dont use any other service unless youre sure of it).
To be honest, its generally quite a bad idea to use eBay to buy things like cars and computers to begin with you can get them anywhere, and the discounts arent that big any more.

Pirate/Fake/Counterfeit Goods and what to do about them
Ebay seems to have a fair amount of counterfeit goods being sold on a daily basis.
If you suspect a seller is selling them then what can you do?
First of all -Do not buy them.
Second of all -Report the seller.
The only way that these items are removed is by ebay members reporting them via the bottom of the listing page where it says 'Report this item'.
A sellers feedback will show if they have had neutrals or negatives for sellingcounterfeit goods from buyers.
The seller won't know who it is that has reported them so you can do this with confidence.
We all need to 'police' ebay ourselves so to speak and it is a community, so lets keep the community spirit by reporting all counterfeit goods.
Just sayNO to Fakes.

HOW TO MAKE A BOMBONIERE FAVOUR
Bomboniere favours are traditional for weddings, christenings, holy communions, anniversaries, ladies nights, in fact all celebrations. This guide will show you how to create a simple but attractive design.
For each favour you will need:
3 tulles - round pieces of material, usually made of silk, net etc. Favours can be made with only 1 or 2 tulles.
5 sugared almonds or dragees if preferred
1 bomboniere dish
Centre decoration
1 elastic band
Length of ribbon
Directions
1. If using more than 1 tulle, place one accurately on top of the other. For the most attractive favour, use three tulles.
2. To keep the almonds clean and to enable the favour to 'sit' correctly, place a small bomboniere dish in the centre of the tulle and place five sugared almonds in the dish. The five sugared almonds symbolise health, happiness, long life, fertility and good fortune.
3. Gather all the tulles upwards to meet together at the top and place a small elastic band over the top of the tulles so that it sits just above the dish of almonds.
4. Separate each layer of tulle by pulling upwards and downwards all the way round and between each layer of tulle. This will 'fluff up' the favour making it look fuller.
5. If using centre flowers, twist the stems together and tape if necessary. Place in the centre hole. Using colour co-ordinated ribbon, finish off by tying the ribbon tightly around the elastic band. Make a bow and leave enough ribbon hanging to give a decorative 'tassle'.
I hope you found this guide useful and if you are making favours for your wedding, hope you have a lovely day and best wishes for the future.
Is your foodsaver costing you more than the food?
So you have bought your own foodsaver vacuum sealer and are looking forward to increase your savings. But, have you really tried to measure up the real value of savings that you think is being achieved through the use of such devices? Obviously not, because you are not the only one who has been lead into believing that such devices offer tremendous saving opportunities. Its quite common for companies to make claims that cannot be measured in real terms but if you are wise enough, you can easily identify products that are really offering benefits and products that are using false claims for attracting customers. In case of vacuum sealers, you need to consider not only the savings that you are making by preserving food for longer but also the operational costs such as those related to buying foodsaver bags and rolls. Just by making a few simple calculations, you can easily see that the expenses that you have incurred on buying foodsaver rolls and bags are more than the savings that you think you have made by using the vacuum sealer. This means that the only real benefit offered by such devices is better preservation of food. The claim that such devices enable increased savings is thus nothing more than a cleverly devised tactic for motivating customers to buy foodsaver bags and rolls.
Now dont get too disappointed because we are here to help you in your cost-cutting initiatives. If you really want to increase your savings through the use of vacuum sealers then all you need to do is to make a few changes in your buying preferences. Instead of buying highly priced foodsaver bags and rolls, we recommend that you opt for compatible foodsaver packs and rolls that are available at reasonable rates. You need not worry about the quality because compatible bags and rolls are manufactured using the same technology as is used by foodsaver bags and rolls manufacturers. The price difference is only because branded product manufacturers have branding on their side, which enables them to charge premium rates from customers.
You can look forward to increase your savings anytime irrespective of whether you are planning to buy a foodsaver vacuum sealer or have already purchased one because its the bags and rolls that determine your savings and not the appliance. Surfing the Internet for cheap deals may make you richer by a few pounds but if you really want to make a difference then you certainly need to opt for compatible foodsaver bags and rolls. You can search on your own but if you are interested in real benefits, then just click on the link below.
Apatite
While it sounds like its hungry, it's actually trying to fool you! The name Apatite comes from the Greek word "Apatao", meaning "To Deceive", as Apatite has often been confused with more valuable gems such as Paraiba Tourmaline, Peridot (Olivine) and Beryl.
Ironically, the phosphates in bones and teeth of all vertebrate animals are members of the Apatite group, so the hunger connection is quite appropriate after all!
Did you know that Apatite was once used as a source of phosphate for fertilizer? Today, mainly phosphorites are used. Legends
Why you need four baby bouncy seats.
We bought one, as we did with virtually everything else. One cot, one pram, one changing table, one bouncy seat. Bad move. The very first thing you realize when you bring your newbie home is that almost everything you want to do can not be done with one hand while you as the terrified new parent holds what they assume to be the world first glass baby.
The first time you go to the kitchen, you realize you can not SAFELY make a cup of coffee while holding a two day old baby. Neither can you go to the toilet, wash your hands, put in laundry or take a bath.
I suggest you buy four baby bouncy seats. Put one in the living room, one in the bathroom, one in the kitchen and have a spare that can travel around, like in the garden when you need to go hang laundry.
My poor little son spent many a time sleeping in the clean laundry basket on the kitchen floor when I got there to do something and realized I could not do it while holding him. Didn't want to leave him in another room without me, so had to make a "nest" in the closest safe place possible.
If I had to do it again, I would buy at least three bouncy seats and spread them out.
Good luck with the newbie, hold them as much as you can because by the time they get to six months they will no longer want to lay back in your arms like a baby and that time will be gone forever. I know it's hard, this is the most dramatic change your life ever underwent, and you spend all your waking (and sleeping) hours trying to stop them crying so you can sit still, in shock, wondering what on Earth possessed you.
Enjoy it while you have it :) they are only really little for such a short time.
Diopside
Diopside is a Calcium Magnesium Silicate found in metamorphosed impure limestone, meteorites and igneous basalts.
Diopside was named in 1800 from the Greek word "Dis" meaning double and "Opsis" meaning vision, in reference to the Pleochroism (i.e. different colours are displayed when viewed from different angles) found in its prismatic form.
Diopside has been previously named Schefferite, White Schefferite and Zinc-Schefferite.

Other Ebayers be decent Please!!
Experiance as a seller can be exciting and sometimes quite a chore, i have many friends on ebay who are great sellers maintaining 100% feedback and who have reached power seller status which is down to their individual hard work.
Until
Other ebayers decide they don't like the fact people are making a go of individual personal businesses. One friend in particular has recently been targeted by such members, in fact a group of them who have ganged up on her spammed her email account and threated all sorts of behaviour because of her success. My friends business is nothing to do with any of these members and it affects none of them personally yet they continue harrass with no sign of stopping.
Why? what is the point....jealousy maybe. Or are they members of an outside group who have nothing better to do than poke their nose into other peoples business.
I am fed up with ebayers who think they can just come on ebay purchase items then take the mickey just to leave negative feedback. 5 members of this group purchased items of my friend and all left neg feedback just for the sake of ruining what she has worked hard to build up from scratch and ebay does nothing but allow it to happen.
Sellers: Beware of ebayers who send unlimited emails complaining about subjects that don't concern them or they know little about. Unles you do what they say your reputation as a seller is in jeopardy, as sellers we need to let ebay know this is unfair.
Buyers: Don't destroy someones hard work just for the sake of a laugh or personal vendetta, there are some individuals sellers on ebay who need the money they earn, they depend on it to pay their bills. Think about the consequences of your actions, and if you would like the favour returned.
Fake MP3/mp4 on Ebay,Paypal 45 days and Ebay 60 days...
I recently bought some 8gb mp3 players on ebay, I bought 34 to resell, I recieved only 13 mp3, out of the 13 only 2 is still alive , others are either cracked to 8gb , when you are charging them, they just give up. In reality , I believe they are all 2 gb but were cracked to 8gb, I did not recieve all other items.
I waited for more than a month to recieve the remaining items as the seller says they are on thier way, Still I did not recieve anything, I reported to paypal, but paypal said they can not process my refund as it is now 49 days since I paid for the item, paypal said any ransaction over 45days can no longer recieve a claim. Each of these mp3 players cost me between 24pounds - 30 pounds.
I contacted ebay for this matter, I was able to report the transactions as ebay time limit is within 60 days, but still I have no refund from the seller, Ebay only suspended his account, as no longer a registered member, The seller had changed his name so you must beware of all this seller trying to make new impression by changing thier name.
I am still waiting for what ebay can do , but it seems the only thing ebay will do it just to suspend him without me getting my money back. Paypal 45 days is not good enough, it should be at least 60 days or they should be able to investigate such issue and issue a refund if found to be genuine. The seller sent me a message that now that I have reported the items and left his account inactive, he will make a new start and I will not recieve my money.
Things like this are sad, I am not only at the risk of losing my money, my trust in my buyers is at stake as all of those who bought the 13 mp3's thatI recieved had returned it all. Ihad madea refund to them all. Over 1000pounds at stake now.
Whenever you buy anything and you have not recieved it within a month please report it asap in order that you may not lose your claim especially if you have paid by paypal. And watch out for this fake MP4/MP3 players, there are still many selling on ebay right now. Iwill included pictures of some of them soon.
If you found this guide helpful, please vote for it, to increase it chances of people knowing this issue and avoiding similar pot hole.
Thank you.

A database of stolen mobile phones. CheckMEND ...
If you want to be sure that the mobile phone you are about to buy isn't stolen read about this IMEI blacklist
All UK networks and some international networks (from 32 countries currently) register stolen mobiles with CheckMEND.
You can now check if a phone you are buying on eBay has been stolen. All you need is the IMEI - so ask theseller for it.
Sellers can check too...
This way every buyer can see your phone is genuine - you'll probably get more bids. If you sell in bulk you can get a discounted rate.
Why check?
If a phone is stolen and the IMEI number apears on the CheckMEND database then you aren't going to be able to use it. Network operators can bar phones and sometimes disable them remotely.
What does it cost?
2.99 for a credit card payment and search online with printable certificate.
or
3.00 for a text message check (only available in the UK)
Sellers with a lot of phones to check can get rates as low as 1.00 per phone.
The website you need is checkmend.com or recipero.com - sorry no link (they aren't allowed in guides)
Hope this helps prevent some people from landing themselves with a stolen phone as I did once.

Special Presentation - The Joy of Ebaying
That Special Touch...
...Making your parcel really memorable!
I've been 'ebaying' quite a while now, and one of the greatest pleasures of this kind of shopping is seeing a parcel arrive. Now,I know this might sound a little bit obvious, when you considering the nature of buying online means things have to be sent to you, but I still find that there's something exciting about getting a parcel in the post.
What I've found with ebay, however, is that so many people make a huge amount of effort to make my day. I'm talking about all of those sellers who take such care with the presentation of the item they send. I've had items arrive with beautiful little touches like coloured tissue and curling ribbon carefully wrapping my 'win', and little handwritten 'thank you' notes always feel special and personal. One item came layered in scented tissue, with a hand-made lavender sachet inside - someone had taken the time and trouble to do this for me, and it made my day.
So who are these people?! They don't know me, I'm just someone who won something they were auctioning, or shopped in their virtual shop, but their thoughtfulness and careturns an ordinary buying experience into a special moment.I know it's not everyone's cup of tea to spend an afternoon sticking stars onto tissue paper and tying curling ribbon around things, then spending even more time hand-writing little cards or notes, and for some people, it just isn't practical! Most sellers are very busy people, trying to fit ebay in with home, family, work, and having a life, or perhaps they sell so many items that their turnaround would becompromised by suchlovely, but time-consuming touches.Let's face it, if we get our items safely, in one piece, with plenty of sensible cardboard or bubble wrap to do that job, it's great, and no one should feel guilty if they don't have the time or inclination to virtually 'gift-wrap' their items...
But for someone who is disabled and virtually housebound as I am, when I open a little parcel and find something in there that's had care, attention, and kindness paid to it before it was sent to me, it really makes my day. I really appreciate all the effort that goes into making a package that little bit special, and so when I've sold items myself, I've tried my best to put that 'personal touch' into the packaging. I've had some lovely feedback to show how much other people appreciate this, too.
So, if you have a few moments to spare before you send off your next few items, perhaps you might like to send an extra free gift - the gift of making someone smile. It won't cost you much, perhaps a few pence extra over the total cost of your other packaging materials, when you work out what a bit of tissue paper, some pretty curling ribbon, and a little note would come to. It's not the cost of the packaging that makes special packaging 'special', it's knowing someone has taken time and care to present something nicely, for a stranger.
Kindness comes in all shapes and sizes, and by taking a few moments toadd a few extra touches to your Special Presentation, you might just find that you have the wonderful gift of bringing a smile to someone's day :-)
Why do light bulbs blow ??
Help! My light bulb has blown and fused all my lights! We've all been there; you walk into your house after a hard day at work, go to switch on the main light and phut, darkness! Don't panic! When filament or incandescent light bulbs go to that lightbulb graveyard in the sky, they tend to trip out todays modern circuit breaker fuses and 99% of the time it is just a question of resetting it, replacing the bulb and light is restored. There are a variety of causes for light bulbs to blow and detailed below are just a few: Cheap unbranded lamps buy branded quality light bulbs such as Crompton, GE, Osram, Sylvania, Bell and Phillips. Loose connection in the lamp holder This causes the electricity to arc between the bulb contacts and the lamp holder contact causing heat to build up and blow the lamp. Vibration - before I installed low voltage Halogen fittings in my lounge, my son whose bedroom was above, regularly did his budding rock star impersonation, causing the original filament spotlights to fail on a weekly basis. The filament in a light bulb is extremely long, thin and wound into a tight coil, therefore Dummy guitarists = vibration = blown light bulbs. Moving table/floor lamps when switched on, doors slamming, etc, all contribute to shortened light bulb life and their early demise. Voltage fluctuations Bulbs are very susceptible to this, an over voltage of only 5% can shorten bulb life by 50%! People living near electricity sub-stations and areas of large commercial activity experience this Solution? Fit a dimmer switch instead of your normal on/off light switch this gives a buffering effect that helps to smooth out voltage spikes. As life evolves new light bulb technology will eventually replace the incandescent light bulb with modern equivalents such as halogen, compact fluorescent, dichroic, low energy, low voltage, mr11
Cowboy Boot Sizes!
Beware of sizing. I would like to offer the following advice if that's ok, from my experience you should always go for a size bigger than you normally take.
Sendra Cowboy Boots. These come up really small. I'm a 5/12 and have just bought a new pair of (Frye types) and they are a size 7!!! The tops feel tight but they give beautifully in no time at all. So go for a size or size
Table Tennis Tables - Purchasing Guide
Table Tennis has got to be one of the most inclusive sports available. From 7 to 77, male or female, skilled or novice, summer or winter, everyone can play. It is an ideal game for family fun and will help get the kids away from their computers.
Table tennis tables are usually split into 2 categories: indoor and outdoor.
Indoor Tables
Indoor tables are less expensive than the outdoor versions. They have a chipboard playing surface which can range from 16mm to 28mm with a price tag that increases with the thickness of the playing surface. The thicker the playing surface the better and more consistent the bounce of the table tennis ball. Because indoor tables are cheaper, it can be tempting to buy an indoor table to use outdoors. This is fine if it is a dry day but be aware that using or storing an indoor table in damp conditions will lead to moisture getting into the playing surface and ruining it. Never store an indoor table outside under a 'waterproof' cover. An indoor table will also suffer damage if exposed to high temperatures so playing in the sun is not an option either.
Outdoor Tables
Outdoor tables are far and away the most popular fo recreational use. The initial purchase is more expensive but the possibilities are far greater. The materials used on the playing surface on an outdoor table vary from one manufacturer to another. The Cornilleau range (along with most other brands) uses a resin laminate which is not just waterproof but weatherproof too. This means that as well as being resistant to rain, it is also protected against sun, snow and frost. Outdoor tables are designed to be left outside all the year round.
Rollaway and Play-Back
A rollaway table is another phrase for a table which folds in half and can be wheeled away for easy storage. Most tables which fold for storage can also be used for solo practice with the folded half acting as the opponent.
Other Considerations
Table tennis tables are large pieces of equipment and you will need about an extra 2m at either end of the table for playing space. Wherever possible look for a table which can be folded when not in use as this will significantly reduce the amount of storage space required. A table tennis table cover is always a worthwhile investment as this will maximise safety and (if stored outdoors) will keep the table clean and therefore ready to play.
Table tennis tables are also very heavy and weigh upwards of 45kg. Don't underestimate the weight of the table - if it isn't on wheels it will be difficult to move.
Look for a table which conforms to all the safety regulations. Check out the warranty - is it a good guarantee? The minimum is 2 years but if a company is offering a longerguarantee then you should see that as a sign of confidence in the product.Who does the responsibility lie with if the table gets damaged either in transit or further down the line? Can you get spare parts? Is the brand widely available in the UK? Is the seller a specialist?
Table Tennis Accessories
Some table tennis tables are delivered with accessories included whilst others do not even include a net and post set so check what you are buying before you bid. Many sellers do include some bats and balls with the table but check if you will need extras or higher spec products. Giveaway bats and balls are often the cheapest and most basic which may well be fine for the first few weeks of play but may not be suitable for the long term.
GENERATED CROSS STITCH CHARTS and HOW TO CROSS STITCH
Hi, due to fostering chidren, I have stopped creating cross stitch charts. I hope the following imformation can be of help ----
WHAT IS A COMPUTER GENERATED CROSS STITCH CHART?
A computer generated cross stitch chart is exactly what thetitle describes; it is a cross stitch chart which has been generated by a computer from a given image. Normally, when purchasing a cross stitch chart from a publishing company in a high street store, you are probably buying a computer generated chart. There are very few people in the western world that still produce charts using pen and paper as this takes a very long time to create and is far less acurate. Generating charts with a computer means that the resulting cross stitch work will look more realistic and artistic.
ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CROSS STITCH!
FABRICS
There are two main types of fabric for cross-stitching: -
AIDA
This is the most popular and probably the easiest fabric to use.It is made up of blocks of woven threads whereby you push the needle through the holes between the blocks. 14 count aida has 14 squares per inch, which is probably the most common. You can also get 6, 8, 11,16, 18

Selling Harmonicas
HI, so you have a harmonica for sale, well here are a few tips that might help you and the buyer. If it is a second hand harp, the buyer will almost certainly be a collector, who will want the harp in the best condition it can be. This DOES NOT mean fully cleaned and polished by you!. Most cleaning done by sellers only does more damage to the harmonica and makes it more difficult to restore/repair. If there are screwsor pins missing, DONT replace them with the nearestsize pin/screw you have, this does more damage. If it is damp, DONT dry it out with a heat source, allow it to dry naturally at normal room temperature. I know a lot of people will not put a second hand harp near their mouth, but it can be blown through a piece of paper with a small hole cut in it to test the reads on blow. A piece of lint orother fine linen will allow it to be tested without the fear of bits coming out of it, into the mouth. DO NOT spray the harp with anything. as these can do damage. In the UK, most harps can be posted to anywhere in the UK for less than 2.00p, and still leave a bit of profit. Why then do we see so many sellers asking the postage rates for 1 or 2 Kgs of weight?, which they then post in a padded envelope at best, or an ordinary envelope at worst???. Harps NEED PROTECTING in the post. You would not believe how many good scarce harps I have recieved that have been CRUSHED in the mail. Always use a small stout cardboard box to send them, even if they are already in their original box, as the original box is a good part of the value to a collector. I hope this will be of some help, I know if you read it and take note it is sure to help the person you are selling it to, which might be me!, and it gave me a chance to gripe about packing them!.
Dave Bull.
My EBAY name G6PJE (Registered Amateur Call sign)will find my website in any search engine, why not have a look, there are more tips and harps there and I am always willing to help anyone with what info I have.

TASSIMO FAULTY ?
Hockey Sticks
1) OVERPRICING: I've seen a couple of sellers who add an RRP to their listing which is well in excess of what the actual RRP is. I would hope that anyone buying a stick or equipment on eBay would be bright enough to cross-check against their own experience or even a mail order firm (such as www.hockeyfactoryshop.co.uk)
2) GENUINE? As with many things on eBay, there are obviously some people out there to make some money and not provide genuine products. If the deal sounds too good to be true, first check 1), and then if all seems to be in order then ask the seller a question!
3) POSTAGE: Hockey sticks are made to last, but if they are not properly packaged then they could be damaged aesthetically in the post, or possibly even chipped, dented or broken internally (for composite sticks).
4) WHAT'S RIGHT FOR YOU? I'm not even going to attempt to discuss this - you cannot buy a stick on price and description alone! Best plan is to head to a local retailer and hit a ball around or try team mates' sticks, then come back and buy the same stick on-line (normally cheaper than retail).
Happy shopping!
ROBBED BY E-BAY AND PAYPAL AGAIN AND AGAIN
HI ALL,,, YET AGAIN I HAVE BEEN DONE
I SOLD SOME METHOD FEEDERS FOR FISHING ON A BUY IT NOW BASIS AND HE PAID STRAIGHTAWAY VIA PAYPAL.
I SENT THE ITEM THE SAME OR NEXT DAY AND HE LEFT ME POSITIVE FEEDBACK AND I DID THE SAME
NOW THIS WOULD INDICATE TO ME THAT HE GOT THE ITEM AS HE LEFT ME POSITIVE FEEDBACK
NOT ACCORDING TO PAYPAL AND E-BAY
AS I DIDN'T SEND THE ITEM RECORDED I COULD NOT PROVE THAT HE GOT THE ITEM SO I REFERED TO THE ABOVE (POSITIVE FEEDBACK)
AND ALL THEY SAID WAS THIS DIDN'T PROVE THAT HE GOT THE ITEM
AND THEY TOOK THE MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT
SO THE ARGUMENT WENT ON BY ME ASKING IF THEY BOUGHT SOMETHING OFF E-BAY AND DIDN'T RECIEVE THE ITEM WOULD THEY BE INCLINED TO LEAVE POSITIVE FEEDBACK WHICH THEY DID OR COULD NOT ANSWER
SO PLEASE BE CAREFULL
REMEMBER PAYPAL IS OWNED BY E-BAY AND NEITHER ARE ANY HELP WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM
Juicy Couture Stuff
Buyers beware! When purchasing juicy couture items on ebay always ensure you ask the seller lots of questions and check the items thoroughly when you recieve them. If the item is from abroad,I would be sceptical. If there is a shop nearby, I would even take the item and ask the salespeople to check if it is authentic or not.
I have had a bad experience lately and don't want the same thing to happen to anyone else.
Hope this was helpful.
about wholesale
Have a look through ebay, you will find thousands of sellers offering return goods pallets from Argos,Woolworths, currys, dixons etc at very low prices.Chances are the price of a return pallet will seem to good to be true,(andi can guarantee it will be too good to be true). Many sellers on ebay buy return pallets in bulk, all the items on these pallets will be checked, the good working items will be sold off individually and the pallet will then be made up of fully broken items, damaged items and small value working items which you wont get much money back for.
These working items are placed on return pallets to make it look like the pallet has never been touched, and the chances are any working item will be a rubbish item like a blow up bed or a 5 kettle or toaster ect!
Beware any pallet stated as being mixed and from ie: Argos,(Argos dont mix their pallets),they fall into 2 groupings, electrical and hardware.Hardware will consist of garden items, clothes airers, and some garden electrical items like strimmers, lawnmowers, shredders, hedge trimmers etc ect.
Argos electrical pallets mainly consist of kitchen electrical items like kettles, toasters, deep fat fryers etc.Any pallet claiming to be a certain type e.g toys, lighting will not have been made up by the companies supplying these return items.
Another way of fleecing you of your money is when the RRP selling price is stated, beware kettles by Russell Hobbs for example,RRP is 49.99,well it might be,but Argos etc may only sell it at 29.99,and during a sale it may be 9.99,now if you buy it as a return at 20% you will be paying 10 for it,and it may not work, and you have no chance of selling it when the store in question is selling brand new at the same price you paid for a returned one !
Usually, the word "untested" on ebay means broken, had it,faulty,it very rarely means it may work.Raw returns are meant to be untouched return pallets, well consider this,if you buy a pallet for 400,and it has a Philips 42" LCD tv on it,you know you can get more for the tv than what you paid for the entire pallet, are you really going to just sell that pallet on without trying it-DONT THINK SO !
Woolworths pallets only contain items that they sell at 49.99 or less,if a pallet has an expensive item on it then its not a straight return pallet, besides which Woolworths pallets contain items you will get next to nothing for e.g. disco balls and small vacuums you can never get parts for.
Ignore all auctions offering to sell informationabout where to get these pallets, use your head and do searches on the net and you will find these places without having to buy information that already comes free-these places want you to buy pallets from them, they wont charge you for getting in touch !
Ask the seller for a list of what the pallet contains, all these pallets do come itemised,if they cant give you a list, then avoid and look elsewhere.
Choosing The Right Car Alarm For Your Car.
With the mine field of makes and models of vehicle alarm systems out there, its important to know what to look out for!
There are four main type of alarm systems that you first need to be aware of:
1. Cat 1
2. Cat 2 to 1 Upgrade ( normally listed as cat 2-1 )
3. Non Cat alarm
4. Tracker alarm ( Known as a Cat 5 )
Here is a short summary of what each type is:
1. CAT 1
A cat 1 alarm means that the alarm system has been tested by a Company called Thatcham and has achieved there top level of security.
All CAT 1 alarms must provide the following features in order to pass the high standards set out by Thatcham:
AlarmPerimeter detection Ignition detectionPassenger compartment movement detectionInclination detection (Motorcycle only)Audible warning with battery back-up power supply
ImmobiliserPassively setIsolates a minimum of two operating circuits or systems, or a minimum of one operationally relevant vehicle control unit with coded intervention
CAT1 alarm systems are the best alarm to go for if your car is either a Jap import, was made in the UK before 1998 or if you want to have a second seperate alarm system to the standard system. And if the alarm system you are looking at does not feature all of the above items, then stay away!
2. CAT 2 to 1 Upgrade
A Cat 2 to 1 Upgrade system will upgrade your vehicles standard immbloiser to a CAT 1 system. The UK government told all car makers that are selling cars in the UK to insure that all there cars came with a standard immbloiser in order to cut down on vehicle crime. This law came into effect from the 1st January 1998.
So if your car was made before this time,I would recommend that youhave a CAT 1 system fitted, and if it was made after this time, then you canhave a CAT 2 to1 system fitted. So your vehicle will then be a lot safer and at a reduced cost to a newCAT1 system.
A CAT 2 to 1 upgrade system must have the following:
AlarmPerimeter detectionIgnition detectionPassenger compartment movement detectionInclination detection (Motorcycle only)Audible warning with battery back-up power supplyResistance to attack for a minimum of one minuteInstalled on vehicles with existing Category 2 immobilization to attain Category 1 status
3. Non Cat system
This is for every alarm system that does not pass all of the above items. Basically its a alarm system that has not been approved by Thatcham.
You will find that 90% of the alarms sold here on eBay are not approved by Thatcham, even if they state they are! Please visit Thatchams website as there is a link toa PDF file that contains a list of approved systemsso you can seee if the seller is telling the truth or not. Please dont not buy one just because its cheap without checking with Thatcham first!
Also in our expearance, most of these alarms that are sold on eBay dont last more than a few months and in some extreme cases, can cause vehicle fires!
CAT 5 Tracking Systems
The new boys on the block! These alarm systems also have built in tracking systems that can be used by the police and in some cases can also be tracked by the owner if the vehicle does manage to be stolen.
With a CAT 5 system installed on your vehicle, you can remotely immbloise the vehicle until it can be recovered, remotely track the vehicle and also remotely signal the vehicle. On top of this the CAT 5 system will also have all of the features of the CAT 1 system listed above.
In our view there are only a few makes of alarm systems that you should trust and they are: Cobra, Clifford, Toad, Meta, Laserline, Viper and Hornet. Of course there are a few more out there, but please be very aware of what you are buying and have what ever you buy fitted professionally!
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us for help.

Peugeot 306 Cabriolet - Handbooks/Roof Fixit Guides
This is just a quick guide to hopefullyinform peoplethat I have seen a recent spate of auctions on ebay of electronic 306 cabriolet guides or handbooks, either byCD or more commonly via 'electronic delivery' (email).
I've seen quite a few auctions for them recently, normally for about 4.99 and I myself having just bought a 306cabriolet last month, was in the market for a good guidebook or handbook because the Haynes Manual for the 306 does not cover the soft top. Well before I nearly purchased one of these guides I checked a few websites and found that most, if not allof these guides are avaiable forFREE at some of the peugeot owners club websites.E.g.pcoclub.org or peugeot306cabrioletclub.co.uk - where you don't even have to register to download the pdf files!
I don't think it'sreally a scam by the people selling these guides, but I noticed that a good few people where buying them and just a simple search on google would have saved them a few quid.

Buying a 205 gti
Firstly, I'm writing this guide to help people avoid falling into some pitfalls that i've encountered when buying and viewing 205's.
Bidding on a car that you have not seen is a big no-no.
Photos will not tell you how the car drives, handles or its structural condition.
The gti is becoming a bit of an old girl at this stage, also the demographic of the average owner is helping a slide in the quality of car....go see the car!!!.
The Gti is not the most robust of cars at the best of times and you will never find one that requires no work, if you do, by the time you have it in front of your house you will have found some niggle that requires your attention. Do not let this put you off ownership, these are fantastic cars which offer a driving experience which is hard to match.
Use your money on the best car you can afford, forget about ice, body kitsor boost valves ect, put the money into the car not the peripherals. It makes financial sense as aftermarket rubbish adds no value to your car. Good prices are paid by people who want original cars with history in pristine condition
So what to buy?
There are a couple of varients of 205 gti,
the 1.6 is a beautifully balanced car with a revvy engine close ratio box and cloth interior (except for limited editions), this model does not command the price premium of the 1.9 but in many ways is just as desirable.
The 1.9 has a lazier engine , which lets the torque do the work, ratios are longer, which makes motorway cruising that bit more enjoyable.
Then we have Dimmas, Turbo Technics conversions and mi16 conversions which go beyond the scope of this article.
The car you choose is up to personal taste and budget. 1.9 gtis in miami blue, steel grey and sorrento green are considered most desirable, non sunroof models are also a good buy as they are slightly stiffer and avoid the perenial peugeot sunroof problems.
Mileage and History.
Check the mileage, make sure it tallies, a gti with sub 60,000 miles should drive tight and relatively rattle-free,if youfind one with genuine proven history you are doing well. Take nobodys word on unproven mileage. Avoid cars with 6 plus owners like the plague, you will discover new bits of botched diy and modifications as time goes on. Go for original cars with a stack of paperwork, any gti which has been lavishly taken care of willl have this. Do not touch a car with no history, you are buying into an unknown, a bad 205 is not a economic restoration project at this point. Steer clear of body modified cars, they look awful, ruin the clean lines of the 205 and wiill be a pig to sell in the future. Most cars now have over 100,000 miles, i know some people will disagree with this, but buying a 205 with over 150,000 miles is a bad idea, full stop. Even well mantained cars will feel tired, have trim issues and a host of niggles. These cars are not built like golf Gti's and do not take the miles with the same grace.
Viewing the Car.
Step back and look at how the car sits, make sure its square to the ground. Open the boot and press down on the rear lip, the car should move cleanly down and then up, if you hear any noise chances are the back axle is on its way out, expensive repair at 400 plus. While you are at the back lift the boot lining and check for damp, if the underlay is wet it is either a sign or previus crash damage or a leakiing tailgate lock. Step back and look at the rear rear wheels, they should be at a right angle to the axle, if there is signs of excessive camber the back axle is most likely on its way out. These cars have all seen some action, a painted panel if well done should not turn you off, do check for filler. Laquer peeling is common especially on 91-92 cars, budget for painting, t-cut wont do jack. Check above the rear windows and look at the groove, this most likely will have a hairline crack, all cars over 60,000 will have it. The crack should not be too noticable, bad cracks can be due to crash damage. Exterior trim fades, it can be darkened using autoglym bumper care but this is only temporary, ensure trim is from same phase 205, post 1990 cars have black, earlier cars have dark grey. Mix and match trim hints atbozo repair using used parts. These trim parts are so cheap, dont buy a car which has mismatched trim, hints at a cheapskate owner, last person you want to buy a 205 from.
Rust!
This is now becoming a problem, cars were well galvanised from new. Crash damage and the elements are now causng the cars to show up rust spots. common places are the lower sills and wheelarches. Also check the inner wings and lower doors. DO NOT BUY A CAR WITH SUBSTANTIAL RUST!, something is wrong if there is.
Interior and Rattles,
The interior on these cars is seldom perfect, drivers bolster wear is common, fabric on 1.6 seats is thin and easily torn. This used to be an easy fix but good replacement interiors are becoming rarer and more expensive. Squeaks from the trim will be a constant companion so get used to it.
Engine and Box.
Engines good to 100k, stem seal wear and compression wear usually evident after this, watch out for blue smoke under acceleration. White smoke can indicate head gasket problem. Early jetronic system can have a lumpy idle, a characteristic of these cars. The later cat equiped cars have motronic management and are a little down on power, but in my opinion are a better proposition for trouble freeownership.
Gearshift should be quick and precise, sloppy change hints at worn linkage rods (easy fix), crunchy change hints at synchro ring problems, recon box about 200, loads of boxs availible used.
GO FIND A GOOD ONE!
A well sorted 205 is a fantastic proposition, its a rewarding driver and if well maintained will apperciate in value. Most are tired and worn, especially those on ebay. Buy with care and you will not regret it.
A Final Warning.
There are a couple of good specialists out there who can work wonders on a 205. However a good independant is probably as good a bet.
Many of the so called specialists are inherently dishonest or promise what they cannot deliver. Results are unproven and seldom satisfactory. Two such companies which I really cannot recommend are 205 Parts, who really don't seem to have a clue what they are doing and work out of a shed.
Lastly though is Andy Entwhistle of HighFlowheads , nice guy to talk to on the phone but really no deep mechanical knowledge or experience in proven modifications. Also no backup or assistance of any kind - shameful service really. I do not write this lightly, it has been a hugely costly mistake for me dealing with both of these companies, its really a case of buyer beware.
Before you decide to drop a lot on money on engine work for your 205, join one of the owners clubs and get recommendations from members , then make contact and ask for proven results and customer feedback. The little Pug has attracted many dishonest modifiers and tuners. Take nothing at face value.
Towbar Types Flange, Swan neck
FLANGE TYPE TOWBARSThe mostpopular type of towbarin the UK. They are the most versitile typeto use with bumper protector plates, bolt on stabilisers, spacer plates, Al-ko balls and bolt on type cycle carriers.Flange type towbars are the most widely available for all makes and models then any other towbar type and are the most competitively priced being the cheapest out of the three. These types of towbar are non-removableand may alsointerfere with parking sensors if fitted on vehicle.SWAN NECK TYPE TOWBARSThese Types of towbar are more commonly used in Europe but are becoming more popular over here in the UK due to the introduction of Al-ko type stabilisers which are now coming as standard on most makes of caravans and certain types of cycle carriers, using a swan neck type towbareliminates the need for spacer plates and Al-ko balls. With its slimmer design and sockets usally being mounted at the bottom edge of the bumper the swan neck is more discreet and easier on the eye then the flange types andit is also less likely to interfere with any parking sensors in the bumper. These type are again non-removable and cannot be used with bumper protector plates and stabilisers orcycle carriers which require being bolted on.DETACHABLE TYPE TOWBARSBecoming more and more popular now in the UK despite being the most expensive type of towbar available at the present. The unique design enables you to remove the neck of towbar leaving just the electrics on show at the bottom edge of bumper which with certain types can be folded up behind the bumper making the towbar and elctricsinvisable. With it beingof swan neck typeagain it can be used withAl-ko type stabilisers and certain type of cycle carriers butcannot be used with bumper protector plates andbolt ontypes ofstabiliser or cycle carrierIf you are looking to buy any type of towbar or any towing related accessories, wehave a range of all differenttypes and productsin our ebayshopat very competitive prices.

Black Code and Fahrenheit perfume Fakes
Hello,
have seen recently lots of perfumes like Armani Black Code or Dior Fahrenheit Selling for around 32. As for these perfumes, for example Christian Dior Fahrenheit 200ml is at those days very very hard to get. If you find it even on Ebay you would pay minimally 60 for this size as this perfume is almost impossible to get. Sellers like Joro Shulev can still have 100% feedback, but between us I dont understand how as even the bottle is totally different than the original not talking about the contents. These people buy those perfumes, because mainly men perfumes copies smell almost the same but the dont last very long and you cannot be sure whats putted into the perfume as stabilizator for perfume oil. Second thing i have seen that there is lots of Armani Black Code 100mls perfumes. I work in perfumery and know that only sizes of this perfume are 30ml, 50ml, 75ml, and sometimes 125ml, but rarely. There is no such a size of 100mls only Aftershave. So be aware and if you are not sure contact me on my email. You can send me pictures of your perfume and i will tell you if its real.
One more thing. The bottle of Armani Black Code perfume is not black if you see from very close or against the light. Its very very dark blue or purple. thats how you can see the difference between fake and original too. And one more trick, if you have this perfume already or some of your friends, try to put the lid on you perfume. the lid from 75ml goes on 50ml as well. The fake lid will not match.
Treadmills the advantages to home owning
Ok back in November I shelled out for a treadmill, it was hugh decision and yes I had some people telling me it was agreat idea an others who where not so enthusiastic.
Thats great a treadmill will help you get into shape
You will be able to exercise whenever you want
Thats alot of money for something you will stop using after a week.
Was it the right decision or notread on.
Once you have a treadmill there is the danger you may never use it, we all have the pieces of gym equipment at the back of cupboards or hid under the bed gathering dust that you glimpse at in shame, these where going to be the new you the new begining but some how you managed to talk yourself out of them in under a week. Only buy a treadmill if you enjoy walking, jogging and running cause lets face it thats about all you can do with one.
Ok the benefits the major one is convenience you can exercise whenever you want what ever the weather or time. You have the chance to get into great shape because you can exercise at your convenience have 10 minutes spare morning noon and night and youve managed a 30 minute workout. Lets face it you would not go to the gym for 10 minutes if thats all you had spare at any one time, but if the gyms there why not. Bearing this in mind you are more likely to work out. Outside cold inside warm where do you want to be?.
So does home owning a treadmill have advantages, of course it does the massive and most importnat one been the convenience of one. Want to exercise at a time and pace thats right for you that makes owning a treadmill money well spent.

12 in 1 USB Sim Card Reader Backup Writer Clone GSM
DON'T BUY ONE
I know; you want one. You can think of loads of things that you could use it for. Imagine, all of your sim cards on one. No more carrying 2 or 3 mobiles around.
All I can say is if you live in the UK and have a UK mobile with a UK sim card don't waste your money because they cannot be cloned. At least not with the items available on ebay for under a tenner!!
It all comes down to breaking the encryption algorithm on the sim card. The older version 1 cards as used in the 1990's and still used in many countries who do not have as advanced a system as we do here have had their algorithm cracked.
With the latest version 2 and in some cases version 3 cards that are in use here in the UK are very secure. With the sim cloning devices available on ebay you are likely to incur the expense of buying a new sim card as well as wasting your orginal money.
The programs used rely on breaking into the sim card by brute force - ie. trying every possible code to gain entry until the right one is found (I have read that you stand more chance of winning the lottery jackpot two weeks running)
The problem arises because the sim card producers build in a counter that checks every attempt and when you exceed a set limit the card stops working. FULL STOP.
You may be thinking that the information I have dug up on the net is out of date and that the guys selling these things, usually from China (despite pretending to be in Manchester)where they do still use the older 'cracked' sim card system, have found a way into the new ones. Well, my guide is not just based on anecdotal evidence. As part of my long quest for a refund after buying and frying (buying the sim card cloner - frying 2 sim cards; the second after being sent a link to 'updated' software by the seller!!) I checked through his last months feedback and found TWELVE other purchasers of the same item who had left negative feedback stating that the item didn't work. Bear in mind that some people may not bother to leave negative feedback as they fear a tit-for-tat negative feedback in return and others just can't be bothered over a sub 7 purchase.
The following quote comes from the much respected expansys website: "There are ways of cloning pre-2002 SIM cards. If yours is newer than that, there is currently no way of cloning it."

xxsindyxx - Sound of Music tickets
Fellow Ebays are advised to avoid dealing with the member with the ID xxsindyxx.
On 2nd October 2006, this member had two sets of 2 x tickets for The Sound of Music listed. As the listing was due to end the same day, and there had been no bids (itself unusual given the current scramble for SOM tickets) I asked a couple of questions, both of which were answered to my satisfaction. I therefore made a bid on the tickets. At this point, I re-read the item listing more closely and noticed that it stated that the tickets had not yet been received from the promoter. I therefore sent a further message to the seller asking for her agreement that she would not invoice me until her tickets were in hand. This message was ignored.
Some three hours later, the listing ended with myself as the highest - and only - bidder. I then received a message via Ebay stating that she had received a telephone call from the promoter that day in which it was stated that it was not possible for her to re-sell the tickets, that they were non-transferrable and that anybody other than her trying to use them would be denied entry to the theatre. This message had also been sent to the legitimate winner of the other pair of tickets.
I found it extremely suspicious that this telephone call had been receivedjust at thepoint whenbids ended- it seemed rather a coincidence. I also find the notion of "non-transferrable theatre tickets" somewhat suspect. I contacted the winner ofthe other setoftickets and was told that he had a similar message, citing a slightly diferent reason for non-sale. I suspect that the bids had not gone as high as the seller wanted and that she was trying to wriggle out of a legitmate sale. I messaged her and got a reply which gave a story again slightly at variance with what I had already been told. She attributed all this to a "simple mistake". Having sent this, she then proceeded to leave negative feedback couched in very nasty tones. I therefore felt obliged to respond in kind, keeping my feedback strictly truthful. Unfortnately, the seller has now chosen to hide her feedback remarks.
So, fellow Ebayers, even if you are desperate for tickets for The Sound of Music, it would be wise to avoid any being sold by this Ebayer.
VW T25 T3 alternative steering wheels
with power steering/strong arms 40cm is OK, and still allows the reading of the speedo
36cm is too small to read the speedo, and to small to turn unless your name is Geoff Capes. There are several sellers on Ebay who will sell a "genuine VW steering
wheel" that "fits" a T25 They may well be off a Golf or similar they
often require some sort of adapter. On a standard van they you will
find it difficult to steer with the reduced leverage of the smaller
diameter. There are two main types of steering wheel made for the T25 one is the standard hard one that is usually on panels and campers, the softer feel ones were supplied with Caravelles and Carats and offer a nicer squidgy feel.
