Military items for sale - Beware

Beware of people selling items such as Combat Body Armour, SUSAT sights or PRR radio systems, they could well be stolen!I have researched with the Defence Logistics Organisation and have ascertained that many such items are NOT disposed of legitimately through the Defence chain to civilian buyers. In short this means that if someone is offering for sale a SUSAT sight system, then it could well be stolen property!!!The upshot of this is that when an investigation takes place, either the Royal Military Police or the Ministry of Defence Police could be knocking on your door to recover the stolen property as evidence at a criminal trial and you may end up giving evidence at a Courts Martial as a witness!I'm not saying that all such items definitely ARE stolen, merely pointing out that it could be the case. Also be very aware of sellers use of the terms 'SAS' 'Special Forces' etc. Most of the items they are selling are standard issue kit to ALL members of the British Army, but use of such terms generally inflates prices because of peoples fascination with the Special Forces.
